Prince Harry is celebrating his first Father’s Day with his six-week-old son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. And to mark the day the Sussex Royal account shared a sweet never-before-seen photo of Archie.
The one-month-old baby is photographed adorably holding on to his dad’s finger and peeking out at the camera as Harry holds him in a loving embrace.
“Happy Father’s Day! And wishing a very special first Father’s Day to The Duke of Sussex” reads the caption of the photo.
The caption also notes that the photo is copyrighted by the Sussexes, which means that it was taken by a private photographer. Or maybe mom Meghan took it herself.
When it comes to US Mother’s Day in May, the family marked the day by sharing a beautiful photo of Archie’s tiny feet. The photo included a backdrop of Forget Me Nots, Princess Diana’s favourite flower.
“Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honour and celebrate each and every one of you,” the caption read.
“Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex.”
The caption concluded with a poignant quote from Lands by author Nayyirah Waheed. “My mother was my first country; the first place I ever lived,” it read.
Although Harry is new to parenthood, it’s clear that he is loving being a father.
The duke said at Archie’s first photocall at Windsor Castle: ‘It’s great. Parenting is amazing. ‘It’s only been two-and-a-half days, three days, but we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy and be able to spend some precious times with him as he slowly, slowly starts to grow up.’
Meghan said of her husband and her son: ‘It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy.’
This week it was also revealed that Harry and Meghan have hired a nanny to help care for baby Archie. According to BAZAAR.com, a source revealed: “Family life could not be more perfect for [Harry and Meghan].” The close friend to the couple continued, “Ever since Archie arrived they haven’t stopped smiling. The sleepless nights are totally worth it.”
