How Kate Honored Her Late Mother-in-Law Diana In Dundee?

During a royal engagement today, Kate Middleton wore a pair of sapphire and diamond drop earrings.

The earrings are actually part of Princess Diana’s collection, which makes it a sweet tribute to the late Princess Diana.

The Duchess chose to pair the earrings with a Black Watch tartan coat dress, a dress she previously wore back in 2012. Kate and William arrived in Dundee to open the 80 million pound museum on the banks of the Tay.

This isn’t the first time that Kate has worn these earrings, as she wore them on multiple occasions in April 2011, shortly after her wedding to Prince William.

Princess Diana originally wore the earrings either as double drop earrings or studs, but they were later remodeled into single tear drops.

She also wore the earrings quite often, for example during her trip to Japan in 1986, and a trip in New York in 1995.

Her huge collection of jewelry was passed down on her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, after her death.

Harry inherited Diana’s bespoke aquamarine ring, which he gave to his wife Meghan. And she wore it during their evening wedding reception. Both Meghan and Kate are often seen wearing Diana’s bespoke jewelry during royal engagements and events.

Two weeks ago, fans noticed that was Meghan wearing a gold bangle from the late Princess of Wales personal collection.

Deborah Papas, Gemologist Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn, told Express.co.uk: “The striking flexible torque bangle has a spiral flat appearance in 18ct yellow gold with a cabochon deep blue sapphire at each end set to give a smooth finish.”

“Smartly coupled each side with a row of pavé set small diamonds set in white gold.

“This comfortable piece of jewelry, once owned by Diana, Princess of Wales, is estimated to be worth between £3,000 and £4,000.”

Meghan’s engagement ring also has a connection to Princess Diana. Her ring contains two gems from Diana’s personal collection, while the center stone is from Botswana, a place that has a special place in Prince Harry’s heart, as it did for his mother.

Kate is a big fan of Diana’s jewelry, opting to go for the late princess’ Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara for the Dutch State Dinner at Buckingham Palace in October last year. In December we got to see the same pearl-laden tiara once again, as Kate decided to wear it for a reception at Buckingham Palace.

The piece looked wonderfully with her bespoke princess-like Jenny Packham gown, featuring embroidered silver crystals and a flowing skirt.
