How Will Harry And Meghan Spend Their First Christmas As A Married Couple?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are getting ready for a traditional royal Christmas!
Prince Harry and Meghan will be heading to Norfolk for their second holiday together – and first as a married couple and soon-to-be parents! – for Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham, the monarch’s country home about 110 miles north of London.
They’ll have a part in a number of traditions. The guests usually arrive early afternoon on Christmas Eve and exchange their gifts. After their church outing, the royal family goes back to Sandringham House for a lunch of Norfolk turkey and other festivities.
Meghan spent last Christmas with the royal family, despite it being quite unusual for non-married partners of senior members of the family to join the Queen for Christmas Day celebrations. When Kate was engaged to William she spent her last Christmas with her own family.
There were reports that Prince William and Kate would be spending the holidays with Kate’s family, but nothing come out of this and the couple will spend the holidays with the royal family.
There were reports that tensions have been heating up between the brothers and their wives. But it seems those reports are rubbish, a source reportedly told People that the royal couples “enjoyed a memorable first Christmas together last year.”
“They really loved Christmas and all had a wonderful time. I think the two women got on — they are definitely not best friends, but it was a really special time for them all to spend together.”- the source says.
Despite some previous reports, it seems Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, will not be spending Christmas with the royal family.
Kate’s family has never joined the royal family for Christmas, but Kate and William decided to skip Christmas in 2016 at Sandringham. Instead, they brought Prince George and Princess Charlotte to church with the Duchess’s family in Englefield.
