Kate’s Genius Life Hack To Keep Her Shoes Tights From Slipping

Kate Middleton has been a fashion icon ever since she joined the Royal family, being praised for her chic, smart and stylish way of dressing. But to look as fabulous as the Duchess of Cambridge takes a lot of careful planning and even some hacks to keep everything in its place and to avoid any embarrassing slips. One of those tricks? Wearing tights with sticky pads on the bottom so her feet stay in her shoes at all times.

The Sun reports that Kate has been seen wearing John Lewis tights that have built-in sticky pads to prevent slipping and the sliding-a problem we can all relate to, am I, right fellas? The stockings only cost 7 dollars and come in nude, black and tan.

Kate has been kind enough to share this hack with her sister-in-law Meghan Markle, as the ladies from the royal family are often required to wear tights, according to royal correspondent Victoria Arbiter.

Kate Middleton

“You never see a royal without their nude stockings. Meghan, from what I can see from the engagement photographs, it doesn’t look like she was wearing tights or stockings,” Arbiter said. “I would say that’s really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Strangely enough, Meghan Markle didn’t wear tights during her official engagement photocall. However, at her very first public event as a royal after the wedding when she came to celebrate Prince Charles birthday- she was wearing light semi-transparent tights with her blush dress.

According to etiquette expert Myka Meier, she reveals to us that the royal women have tons of clever tricks up their sleeve. They often use weighted fabrics to prevent their skirts from flying up, or clothes that increase static to keep the apparel from moving. One trick that the Duchess of Sussex apparently uses is that she wears shoes that are too big for her to avoid getting blisters after a long day of engagements. Genius.
