In the past couple of weeks, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been out of the public eye. And for that reason, fans have gone wild with theories on the couple’s whereabouts. And now finally we have an answer. The two have been enjoying some quality time together away from the press and in the company of George and Amal Clooney.
Both couples have been staying in Italy, where the Clooney’s have a grand family villa at Lake Como. Recent reports have revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan have stayed there for three days.
ITV LA correspondent Ross King, shared the details of the secret trip this morning while talking on Lorraine.
Where did we think they were?” began King. “Maybe it was LA to see her mum, maybe it was Mexico to see her dad, maybe it was Canada to see her old gang from Suits, maybe it was to Scotland… but we’ve now found out exactly where they were.”
Ross revealed that the couple was staying in the “beautiful villa that belongs to George Clooney in Lake Como”.
He went on to reveal: “It’s an absolutely amazing villa, they were there for three days.”
Ross also revealed tons of other minor details, such as the fact that George and Harry even got to play some basketball together. It was also revealed that Meghan and Amal have actually known each other beforehand, with the correspondent saying that the two met through Amal’s hairdresser.
The Clooney villa is said to be “absolutely stunning, with 25 rooms, a theatre, a pool, a tennis court [where the basketball happened] and a pizza room.”
On the chat show they also talked about the fact that Meghan and Harry enjoyed a dinner for 15 people while in Lake Como, however, the guest list is still unknown.
Meghan and Harry only managed to get away to the villa for only three days, as the weeks to come are booked with important events.
At the moment, the couple is back in London, as they have to attend a very special performance of the musical Hamilton. The performance is actually for Harry’s charity, which helps people affected by HIV in Africa.
The Duke and Duchess have also got another performance coming up later in the month, with Ross joking that he “hopes they made the most of their little break at the Clooney’s”.
Along with their visit to Lake Como, Meghan also made a quick visit to Toronto this summer, which marked her first time flying without Harry since their wedding in May.
Just before the Royal tour that starts soon, Meghan has used this as an opportunity to have some downtime and spend some time with old friends. She did live there for six years before the move to London last year. There she filmed seven seasons of the TV-drama Suits.
According to The Mirror, the Duchess flew to Toronto via Air Canada without her husband by her side.
The airline was reportedly asked to protect Meghan’s privacy during the eight-hour flight, with The Mirror citing news hub Royal Central as its source.
