Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were definitely Hollywood’s power couple of the 90s. However, their marriage didn’t last and that evidently may have been the best move for her career.
Cruise and Kidman were married for 11 years. They got married in 1990, but eventually divorced in 2001.
Now, the 50-year-old actress has allegedly revealed to OK! magazine that it was after their divorce when her career really took off.
“I was out of [the marriage] and suddenly the energy shifted in my ability to go anywhere,” she told the publication.
Apparently, the marriage helped because she “didn’t have to be answering to a relationship” after the couple divorced.
It is interesting what Nicole shares. And it may have some truth considering that just after their divorce was finalised in August of 2001, she went on to bag an Academy Award for Best Actress in hit film The Hours.
Kidman married the country singer Keith Urban in 2006 and the star gushed about him to the mag saying they have a “really good, strong marriage”.
The couple have two children together Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Nicole adopted two children while married to Tom, Connor and Isabella too.
