1st of October marked the 42nd season premiere of “Saturday Night Live”. It was hosted by the “Suicide Squad” star Margot Robbie. The Weeknd was the musical guest on the show and performed his two new singles “False Alarm” and “Starboy”. He also gave a new edition of the “The Weeknd Update”.
Although it’s always a pleasure to listen to The Weeknd, the story of the night was the SNL’s parody of the presidential debate. The eagerly awaited sketch, which had been promoting during the week, opened this year’s “Saturday Night Live” premiere. 16 time host of “Saturday Night Live”, Alec Baldwin, played Donald Trump and recent Emmy Award winner, Kate McKinnon, as Hillary Clinton.
Even though Baldwin was mostly making a “Trump face”, he gave a fine performance. Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton almost cried of joy. Her performance was dead-on.
Kate McKinnon’s words in Saturday night’s cold open may have been the most accurate representation of the presidential elections.
