The Palace Just Announced Meghan’s First Post-Maternity Engagement

Meghan is officially returning to royal life next week after a couple of months maternity leave following the birth her of first child Archie on May 6. This morning, the Palace announced her first post-maternity engagement.

Emily Andrews, a royal correspondent, wrote on Twitter: “Duchess Meghan will launch her new clothes line, in collaboration with @Jigsaw, @jlandpartners, @marksandspencer & pal @mishanonoo, next Thursday 12 Sept to support her patronage @SmartWorksHQ. Very excited to see what she’s picked for her capsule working wardrobe!

“It’s Meghan’s official return to work from maternity leave after having baby Archie, but in reality she hasn’t really stopped: attending engagements with Harry during the summer, curating and guest-editing Sept Vogue & setting up the new SussexRoyal charitable foundation.”

Meghan Markle Smart Works

Andrews continued with details about the the royal’s first post-maternity engagement “Meghan will make a short speech before watching a panel discussion with SmartWorks reps, two of its clients & Patron.”

“She’ll then meet Smart Works and brand representatives who will talk through the SW journey every client undergoes—including wardrobe and interview.”

The Duchess of Sussex became the royal patron of Smart Works in January and had a public engagement at the headquarters that month.

Meghan broke the news about her fashion collaboration in her British Vogue issue.

Few weeks after revealing the exciting project, the royal shared the first glimpse of her project in a candid Instagram Story.

“Sneak peek at the new Smart Works charity capsule collection shoot, ahead of the autumn launch,” Meghan captioned the Instagram Story.

“An initiative supporting the Smart Works collective which will equip women entering the work force with the key work wear essentials they need…coming soon,” she added.

Meghan is also set to go on her and Harry’s first royal tour with their son Archie. The family will visit together South Africa, while Harry will be making solo stops in Angola, Malawi, and Botswana.
