The Royal Family

Meghan Markle’s Child Dream: Harry’s Fiancée Wanted To Be Diana 2

With only 50 more days of having a normal life before she officially becomes a member of Britains royal family. A new book is shedding light on the life of the soon-to-be royal before she ever met Prince Harry. In the book, “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess,” they claim that Markle’s divorce from her first marriage with producer Trevor Engelson, came so abruptly that she sent her ring back through the mail.

“Trevor went from cherishing Meghan to, as one friend observed, ‘feeling like he was a piece of something stuck to the bottom of her shoe,’” royal biographer Andrew Morton writes in the new book.

In his book, Morton portrays Markle as a social climber.

“A networker to her fingertips, she seemed to be recalibrating her life, forging new friendships with those who could develop her career,” he writes.

Markle, 36, who was born in California, got her fame from starring in the hit show “Suits”. She had a seven-season run with the show, but it was unfortunately cut short when she announced her engagement to Harry last November.

“Because I’m from the states, we don’t grow up with the same understanding of the royal family,” Markle said last November in her first engagement interview with Harry. “And so, while I now understand very clearly that there’s a global interest there, I didn’t know very much about him.”

Morton also got details about Meghan’s life from, as he calls a childhood friend of hers, in which the person states that she was in fact “always fascinated by the royal family.”

The friend also stated that Meghan “wanted to be Princess Diana 2.0,” which is quite the coincidence as she is Harry’s late mother, who was a noted humanitarian.

Markle, who is a graduate of Northwestern University, is also a humanitarian who worked with the United Nations on woman’s issues and was an ambassador for World Vision prior to meeting Harry.

Meghan’s teenage friend, who Morton interviewed, revealed that Meghan was in tears when they watched the funeral for Diana in 1997.

According to family and friends, she was intrigued by Diana not just for her style but for her independent humanitarian mission, seeing her as a role model,” Morton writes.

As Markle is currently in preparation for her big day on May 19th, now as a royal, she will have more opportunities than ever to do humanitarian work.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Markle, who now resides in London, has been warmly welcomed by the residents of the U.K. as she was traveling with Harry throughout the U.K. She has also worked closely with Harry and Prince William and Princess Kate on The Royal Foundation, the Royals’ charitable arm of which Markle will become a patron.

Markle has also, by all accounts, been warmly welcomed by the royal family.

The couple did not join Queen Elizabeth, William and Kate and other royal family members on Sunday for the traditional Easter service at St. George’s Chapel at Windsors Castle, which will also be the place where the Harry and Meghan will exchange wedding vows.
