Meghan Is Hosting An Event For A Very Special Cause

Duchess Meghan will be a host of a celebration at Kensington Palace on Thursday 20th September.

The event is organised to mark the launch of a cookbook that Meghan helped publish.

Today, it has been reported that the Duchess made secret trips to a community mosque to cook with Grenfell Tower victims after the horrifying inferno that left 72 dead, it emerged today as she helped to release a new cookbook.

The title of the cookbook is Together: Our Community Cookbook. It features 50 recipes from women who lost their homes and loved ones in the Grenfell tragedy.

To celebrate their accomplishment, Meghan has invited the women to the palace to help prepare a meal before they sit down to enjoy the food with their guests.

Among the other invitees are: representatives from Ebury Press, Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre and The Royal Foundation.

The Royal Foundation, charity of William, Harry, Meghan and Kate, is administering the transfer of funds from the sale of the cookbook to the Hubb Community Kitchen and related projects.

The book’s proceeds will support the Hubb Community Kitchen, a gathering place for survivors. (Hubb means love in Arabic.)

Meghan says in her foreword for Together: Our Community Cookbook: “I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen; it is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry and cook together.

‘Melding cultural identities under a shared roof, it creates a space to feel a sense of normalcy – in its simplest form, the universal need to connect, nurture, and commune through food, through crisis or joy – something we can all relate to.

‘Through this charitable endeavour, the proceeds will allow the kitchen to thrive and keep the global spirit of community alive.’

The ladies also recorded a moving video about the making of the cookbook, which Kensington Palace released on Monday.
