The Secret Gift Prince Charles Has For Grandson George

As a grandfather, of course, you have the important duty of buying the best gifts to your grandchildren, and so does Prince Charles. The grandfather of three, with one more on the way, he has quite the challenge ahead of him of getting the presents just right.

So for his oldest grandchild, Prince Charles decided to go with something more unorthodox. While thinking about what to give him, he came up with a great idea, his very own forest.

Yes. Not some shiny toy, not some educational book, but a dozen trees in a paddock to mark the day the little Prince was born five years ago. And the heir to the throne plans to continue adding to the forest and expanding it for as long as he can. Speaking in a new BBC documentary, Charles said: “This is George’s Wood.

“As I get older, all I really long for is to plant trees. I hope it will be quite amusing for George as they grow up and he grows up.”

And it seems that Prince Charles isn’t the only one that thinks ahead when it comes to buying presents for the youngest royals. Prince Harry is creating a library for his youngest nephew Louis and has already spent 8,000 pounds for a first edition AA Milne’s Winnie-The-Pooh as a christening present.

Harry’s close friend told the Sun: “One of Harry’s happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother.

“She loved all the old classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte, and George to enjoy as they get older.

“He originally wanted to get Lewis Carroll’s Through The Looking Glass, which was on sale for £24,000, but decided Winnie-The-Pooh would be more suitable for a first time.”
