Daniel Craig Signs Up For Bond 25 as Christopher Nolan Admits to Talks With Producers

Reportedly the saga over the next James Bond is at an end. The Mirror reported that producer Barbara Broccoli has convinced Daniel Craig to sign on for a fifth outing as 007 in Bond 25.

The actor, who famously said “I’d rather slash my wrists,” adding “We’re all done. All I want to do is move on”, after hearing about the range of actors who were ready to replace him.
Among the stars who have been tipped for the role are Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, James Norton etc. Anyway almost all of them have denied any major involvement with the forthcoming Bond movie.

Craig has been at the centre of the franchise’s most lucrative films to date: Skyfall grossed $1.1 billion at the international box office, making it the highest-ever grossing film for Sony Pictures and the second highest-earning of 2012. Spectre, the 2015 follow-up, is the fourth biggest earner in the franchise’s 53-year-history after Thunderball (1965) and Goldfinger (1964) with inflation.

According to reports, producer Barbara Broccoli is said to have secured Craig and is alsotrying to secure Adele’s talents for the soundtrack. Broccoli is said to be “talking the singer round”.

An insider said: “Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners. It’s taken time but Daniel has come round, and the strong consensus in the Bond offices is that Mr Craig is 007 again. As for Adele, she’s more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive.”

Craig and Adele made the action movie the most successful James Bond movie to date after it grossed more than $A1.4 billion at the box office.

At the New Yorker festival in October, 2016, Craig revealed playing Bond has been his best job.
“As far as I’m concerned, I’ve got the best job in the world. I’ll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it,” shared. “If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly,” he added.

Reportedly, the Broccolis are also looking for new talent in order to bring a new twist to the formula. Director Christopher Nolan has said that he’s been speaking to producers, but would want to wait until the franchise “needed” him before stepping into Skyfall and Spectre director’s Sam Mendes’ shoes.

Nolan told Playboy: I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.
