Johnny Depp Officially Confirmed as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts

Harry Potter fans all over the world are thrilled for Johnny Depp’s role in Fanatic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Warner Bros announced that Johnny Depp will be playing Gellert Grindelwald in their next Fanatic Beasts franchise. The enigmatic interview on Muggle.net with Ezra Miller started the theory that Johnny will be acting in the new movie. The speculations are now over as WB officially confirmed that the role of the dark wizard Grindelwald will be played by Depp.

The Director David Yates in an interview with The Leaky Cauldron said that the whole principle of casting the movie was to go with the best actor. Whole lot of time and effort was put in finding the most inspired, interesting and right fit actor for that character. And of course everyone is exited what would Depp do with the character, because he is imaginative, ambitious and fearless.

          Johnny stood out from the crowd, not because he is famous or not famous, but because he is interesting.

Although speculations about Depp’s appearance in the Fantastic Beasts were spreading for a while, even the rest of the cast of the franchise were shocked by the official revelation.

Katherine Waterstone plays Tina Goldstein in the movie. She says that she is the last to know that she and Johnny will play in the same movie.

And she found out at the same time when the world found out, pointing out that Eddie Redmayne knows more than the rest of them.

Eddie managed to hide the information pretty good, as he only response about Depp’s role was “I did know when we came to shoot that moment.”
