Oscars 2017: The winners of the prestigious awards
The 89th Academy Awards ceremony traditionally took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel hosted and entertained the audience, those several hours of awarding the best in the film industry for the past year.
The people’s favorite “La La Land” was mistakenly given Award for Best Picture, but the error was corrected and the most important award went to the film “Moonlight”.
Although it did not win the award for best picture, “La La Land” still emerged as the winner in most of the important categories. Best Director was elected Damien Hazel Emma Stone won the golden statuette for Best Actress, the song “City Of Stars” became a Best Original Song and also the famous musical won the awards for Best Cinematography.
Best Actor was selected Casey Affleck, brother of Ben Affleck for his role in “Manchester by the Sea”.
The award for Best Supporting Actress was given to her Viola Davis for her role in “Fences”, and the award for Best Supporting Actor “flew” in Mahershala Ali “Moonlight”.
“Zootopia” was named Best Animated Feature Film, while the Best Foreign Language Film was named “The Salesman”.
