“The Rock” Gets Another Presidential Endorsement

If by any chance Dwayne Johnson makes a decision to run for president in 2020, Michael Moore has his campaign slogan ready: “Run the Rock! Run the Rock,” Moore told “Variety” in a new interview

“It would scare anybody that would hurt us,” Moore continued. “Think about how safe we would be if The Rock was president. Not Vin Diesel! The Rock.

Earlier in 2015, Moore predicted why Donald Trump would win the 2016 presidential race. But now he has an idea about which candidate the Democrats should put forward. It should be someone with star power.

“One things the Democrats didn’t understands is that Trump is a beloved TV star,” he said. “I’ve had this question now for almost 20 years—Why don’t the Democrats run Tom Hanks? Why doesn’t Oprah run? Why don’t we run someone that’s beloved by the American people?”

Moore added that the Democrats should really catch on with a history of Republican leaders like Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and even Sonny Bono. And there is no one better than Dwayne to be added to the mix. He is a distinct, former professional wrestler, current charismatic movie star with Hollywood charm of Reagan and the biceps of Schwarzenegger.

Excellent #RockDelta? meeting this past weekend with top @underarmour creative execs Sheldon and Aaron, at our crib in Georgia. Here I decide the mtg should take a sharp left turn as I tell Sheldon, we should replace my iconic bull logo with a hanging pair of balls. Oddly, the room goes silent. @joblankz (President of @garciacompanies & my first cousin – proud of her) looks on with intrigue, as to say, “great idea DJ, continue…” @nikolekaplan (Team Rock Coordinator and overall bad ass) texting the rest of the office on her Mac, “Boss just brought up his balls.” As per usual I’m being inappropriate and having fun, but a fantastic meeting with GREAT ideas for our upcoming new fall launch. New gear, new designs and new #RockDeltas? you guys out there are gonna luv. THANK YOU TEAM for all flying in to accommodate my crazy schedule. 45min doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but in my world, it’s an eternity. Great productive work. Thank you! #ProjectRock #UnderArmour NEW DROP this fall. ???

Fortunately, for Moore, Johnson was having thoughts about taking up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. In June 2016, Johnson told British GQ that politics aren’t out of the question. His fans were inspired by his interest and they showed their support at the Democratic National Convention last July. They suggested The Rock as a third-party candidate.

“I’ll be honest, I haven’t ruled politics out,” he said. “I’m not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure. I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring.
