“Thirteen Reasons Why” Selena Gomez teases the upcoming Netflix series
Selena Gomez shared a video of the first trailer for Thirteen Reasons Why.
The famous singer is now in the role of executive producer for the series. On 25th January Selena shared a clip on her Instagram account. The video is a short teaser for the upcoming Netflix series. Selena captioned the video: “A peek at a passion project I’ve been working on with @Netflix. @13ReasonsWhy arrives 3/31.”
Thirteen Reasons Why is based on the best-selling series by Jay Asher. Following the teenager Clay Jensen played by 20 year old Dylan Minnette. When Clay returns from school, on the porch in front of his home he finds a mysterious box with his name on it. Inside the box he sees a group of cassette tapes. The tapes were recorded by his classmate and crush Hannah Baker, played by Katherine Langford. Hannah had committed a suicide two weeks earlier.
The cassette tapes are Hannah’s audio diary and they are detailing the reasons why she decided to end her life. The 13 reasons for the suicide are explained through Clay and Hannah’s dual narratives.
The series unveils a touching and captivating story of confusion and desperation that would have severe influence on the viewers.
After reading the book on which the series is based, Selena with her mother Mandy Teefey and producer Kristel Laiblin brought the book to Anonymous Content. The producing company had to make a screen adaptation of the book.
This is the first series that Selena had produced. Earlier he served as an EP on TV movie The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex. But this year she will spend more time behind the lens. The singer would also executive produce the anticipated Freeform series “Latina Empire”. As well as a Lifetime series based on her own life.
