Legend has it that Leonardo DiCaprio was so named after Leonardo da Vinci. Reportedly, his pregnant mother was looking at a da Vinci painting in a museum in Italy when DiCaprio kicked for the first time. Considering this, it seems like destiny that DiCaprio someday might play the role of da Vinci.
Leonardo DiCaprio has played many various roles. However, he has never played the most famous historical figure to share his relatively weird name. At last, according to reports, Paramount will shoot a movie based on Walter Isaacson’s Leonardo Da Vinci. Leonardo DiCaprio will star as the man himself. In other words, Leonardo is Leonardo.
Walter is the author of the book Steve Jobs. The book was turned into the movie directed by Danny Boyle that starred Michael Fassbender.
According to info from the publisher, Isaacson used Da Vinci’s notebooks to “weave a narrative that connects his art to his science and voracious curiosity and imagination.”
Also, it shows Da Vinci as “a bit of a misfit,” with Deadline saying he’s “illegitimate, gay, vegetarian, left-handed, easily distracted, and at times heretical.” According to the book, Da Vinci also was a bit of a misfit: illegitimate, gay, vegetarian, left-handed, easily distracted and at times heretical.
It is impossible not to get excited about this movie. Just picture all of that with a guy named Leonardo playing the guy named Leonardo.
We can’t wait!
