Well, their dad is the President of the Football Association. And also there’s the World Cup. So it’s no surprise that Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been engrossed by it all.
The little royals have also caught World Cup fever. According to royal blog, Royally Will & Kate, during the weekend, the kids were playing football in the gardens of Kensington Palace with their friends.
Kate revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte are also fans of Aston Villa. Just like dad William. Moreover, the kids have their very own Aston Villa kits and their love wearing it.
Kate talked about this with nine-year-old student Brian Mulonbi, during a visit to Coventry. Brian shared: “Kate told me that Prince George and Princess Charlotte love putting on Villa kits. I told her I am an Arsenal fan, so I don’t really like Villa kits.” Kate jokily replied: “I have to be loyal to my husband!”
Taylor Mosley, also nine, added: “I said to them that I’m a Villa fan because I know William is a Villa fan. He said he wants Sam Johnson to be our goalkeeper forever.”
Prince William has been asked who he wants his children to support. He said: “The responsible thing would be to say, to let him make his own mind up, but I think I might be quite biased.
“I haven’t quite worked out how to play that yet. But, of course, he can support whoever he wants, but if he supports Villa, it’d be fantastic. I’d love to go to the odd match with him in the future.
“It’ll probably end up being that Charlotte is the Villa fan, and George will go and support someone else.”
When Charlotte was only 17 months-old, the Duke revealed that his girl was showing good potential as a future footballer. “Charlotte is the one who shows more aptitude for football,” he confessed.
He was having a conversation with the England women’s team, Steph Houghton, and Jill Scott. And he revealed: “George is sort of getting into it slowly, but Charlotte is showing more aptitude. They’re great”.
