The Reason Why William And Kate Will Miss Prince Charles Birthday

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton will, unfortunately, miss Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party.

Instead, the young royal couple will go to Yorkshire on Wednesday, November 14, to a Centrepoint hostel in Barnsley which provides accommodation and support for teenagers and young adults. The Prince continue the charity work his late mother, Princess Diana was doing.

Back in 2009, the Prince himself spent the night sleeping on a London Street with Centrepoint’s CEO, when the temperatures dropped below the zero, to better understand with the plight of rough sleepers. This comes after the statement that Prince William made, in which he said that his father’s workload sometimes stops him from spending quality time with his three grandchildren, saying “the man never stops.”

Recently, a new BBC documentary about the royal family got released, and in it, Prince William was asked if his father has sufficient time to spend with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis with his ever so busy schedule which sees him work seven days a week.

William said: “I think he does have time for it, but I would like him to have more time with the children.” The goal of Centrepoint is to give young people a leg-up and help them get back into education, training or employment. The Prince has visited the centre in the past as well, when one time he sat down with youngsters to discuss their circumstances, review their plans and sort out their housing benefit claims. He was made a patron of Centrepoint in 2015, after first being introduced to it by his late mother.

Recalling the days he visited the centre with Princess Diana, he said: “That example of selfless service that Centrepoint represents has stayed with me, and that is why it was the first charity that I wanted to be associated with.”

That won’t be the only stop the couple will be making when in Yorkshire, as they will also head to Rotherham to open a £50 million McLaren factory where lightweight carbon fibre ‘tubs’ will be made for cars.

A Kensington Palace source told the Sun: “As a normal working day the Duke and Duchess have official engagements during the daytime visiting important projects in South Yorkshire.

“These were of course cleared with Clarence House to make sure they didn’t clash with any birthday celebrations.”
