The Strict Rules Royal Nanny Has For George, Charlotte And Louis
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are all looked after by Norland nanny Maria Borallo, who has been working for the Cambridge since 2014.
Being great-grandchildren of the Queen of England, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have always been given the very best, including nannies. Maria Borallo, who trained at the prestigious Norland College, was hired by the Cambridge family in 2014 when Prince George was only eight months old.
Since then she has lived with the family at Kensington Palace, travelling with them during their visits and royal tours, always discretely being there. Nanny Maria is believed to be very strict with the royal children, as all Norland Nannies are known for their “no-nonsense approach”.
There are a number of rules that nannies from the Bath college are taught to impose on children, and that makes George, Charlotte and Louis no exception, so that means that the little royals also have to follow these rules.
Norland expert Louise Heren told the Sun: “There will be no mess. That’s because Maria will be aware that as they step off planes, holding mum’s hands, smiling and waving to the crowds, there can’t be any crying or terrible twos or tantrums.”
There is also a strict 7 pm bedtime every night, which has to be stuck to. As a way to discourage fussy eating, new foods and flavours are introduced every few days.
There is also the rule that all play must take place outside, regardless of the weather.
Louise said: “Lots of bike rides, playing with their dogs, potentially some gardening. Norland is very into teaching children through play.
“If it is tipping down, they will still go out. Wet weather is just inappropriate clothing, you have to put the right stuff on.”
Children are taught using games and traditional fun, such as jigsaw puzzles.
Screen time is entirely up to the parents, an issue that Prince William has admitted having some difficulties with it in the past.
