Prince Harry and Meghan have just posted on their Sussex Royal Instagram for the first time since announcing that they would be resigning as senior royals.
The couple posted couple of photos from their visit to The Hubb Community Kitchen on Tuesday, before arriving at Canada House. In the six photos, Harry and Meghan can be seen enjoying a meal and laughing along with members of staff.
The caption reads: “Earlier this week, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to visit the women of The Hubb Community Kitchen and Together, Our Community Cookbook.
“These women came together in the wake of the Grenfell tragedy to cook meals for their families and neighbours who had been displaced from the fire. With funds from the successful cookbook, they have now been able to share their spirit of community with so many more.
“The Hubb continues to work with local organisations to build hope, bring comfort and provide not simply a warm meal, but with it, a sense of togetherness.”
“The Duke and Duchess were so happy to reconnect with the women and hear about the projects they continue to develop to help those in their community and beyond.”
Duchess Meghan wanted to check in with the community, following the couple’s six-weeks break from royal duties.
Meghan does these regular “check-ins” with the group, oftentimes privately and with no media coverage. She started visiting the women who use the kitchen since January, 2018.
The Duchess chose to help the Hubb Community Kitchen as her first solo charitable project as a new member of the royal family. She also helped them release a cookbook to raise money for the kitchen and hosted its launch.
In September 2018, after the launch, Meghan described the project as a “tremendous labor of love.”
