Kate Middleton is one of the most influential women in the fashion world, oftentimes mesmerizing the public with her choice of outfit at royal events. So it comes as a surprise that the Duchess actually asks for advice when it comes to her style and closet from a person very close to her.
That person is Sophie, the Duchess of Wessex, 54, who shares a close bond with Kate Middleton as well as a very similar taste in fashion. Their wardrobes have so much similar items and stylistic choices that its a miracle that they haven’t worn the same thing at an event that both were attending.
Donna Ida, the fashion designer, told the Daily Mail that when Sophie buys her pieces, she also remembers to pick something up for her royal relative.
She said: “She [Sophie] got our [£295] black Sadie jumpsuit for herself and then asked for one for Kate. She said: ‘Kate wants one, can I get one as well?'”
Sophie is a well-known fan of the humble jumpsuit, looking absolutely stunning in a navy Emilia Wicks one-piece at Ascot this summer. Maybe in the near future, we might get to see the Duchess of Cambridge wear something similar.
Last Thursday, both royals attended the official naming ceremony of RSS Sir David Attenborough in Birkhead. They didn’t fail to impress, with Kate wearing a sky blue Alexander McQueen utility jacket, while Sophie rewore one of our favourite frocks for the UCI Road World Championships, her green floral Suzannah tea dress.
