Meghan Pictured In New York Ahead Of Baby Shower
Meghan Markle went to the USA to see her closest friends. She flew over there on Friday for a five-day trip, ahead of the birth of her child in late April or early May. And today her closest friends are throwing her a baby shower at an Upper East Side hotel.
The Duchess is seven months pregnant, and this will probably be the last time she sees her friends before the royal baby arrives.
The Duchess went undercover in a flat cap stepping out with a royal protection officer. At least she attempted.
But Meghan’s glittering engagement ring was fully visible as she made her way to the car, which gave the Duchess away.
Meghan was wrapped up in a long navy blue coat and carried another hat and two bags.
She left her husband Harry at home, with Harry having a number of royal engagements himself.
Jessica Mulroney, the Duchess’ best friend, is thought to be the one organizing the baby shower for the Duchess.
Other friends who might attend include tennis player Serena Williams, model and actress Priyanka Chopra, long-time college friend Lindsay Roth, designer Misha Nonoo, brand consultant Benita Litt and Meghan’s former Suits co-stars Sarah Rafferty and Abigail Spencer.
“The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves. This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments.
“It’s been a relaxing visit. Nothing beats face time with your friends.
“Meg will be flying home refreshed and relaxed – and with a lot of new baby clothes,” a source told US magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
The Duchess and her friend Jessica Mulroney were spotted out together tucking into macarons at Ladurée in Soho on Saturday.
The Duchess spent a romantic evening with her husband before she left for the USA.
The royal couple celebrated their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple after the Duke travelled to Norway to meet British troops.
And on Saturday, the soon-to-be-parents will travel to Morocco for a three-day visit.
