Prince Harry And Meghan Step Out To Attend WellChild Awards
On Tuesday evening, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out for one of their most emotional nights of the year. The couple is attending the annual WellChild awards in London to pay tribute to the bravery of seriously ill children as well as their parents and carers who support and look after them.
Meghan looked stunning as always in a dark green dress. She teamed it with brown suede heels, a long camel-coloured coat from Sentaler, and a tortoishell bag.
Harry and Meghan will also attend WellChild’s pre-ceremony reception where they will meet the young winners of each award category and their families, and the nominated healthcare professionals.
The Prince is also expected to present the award for the most inspirational child in the four-to-six age category and deliver a speech on stage at the event.
Per their website, WellChild “is the national UK children’s charity making it possible for children and young people with exceptional health needs to be cared for at home instead of hospital, wherever possible.”
Harry has been a patron of the WellChild charity since 2007, regularly attending the awards and visiting the charity’s headquarters to meet with the children and employees.
WellChild was also one of four causes to which Harry and Meghan asked people to donate instead of sending gifts for their newborn son Archie.
Speaking at the awards in 2017, Harry explained: “These awards were created to shine a bright light on an amazingly brave group of children and young people, on their lives, and on the resolve they and their families have shown to overcome challenges. Life for families caring for seriously ill children is exceptionally tough. And without WellChild it is even tougher.”
This marks Harry and Meghan’s first joint engagement in the UK since they returned from their official tour of Africa nearly a fortnight ago.
