On Wednesday afternoon, Duchess Kate arrived at a charity polo match at Guards Polo Club in Windsor alongside her husband Prince William. But, they also took a special guest with them: their family dog Orla!
Kate’s brother James bred a litter of cocker spaniel puppies last summer and gifted the new puppy to his sister before their other dog, Lupo, passed away late last year. Orla is a Celtic name meaning “golden princess” and the cute doggo definitely is a golden princess.
The Cambridge dog has made the news and not when she was featured in one of the portraits of Princess Charlotte released by the Palace for her seventh birthday.
Meanwhile, Prince William took part in the Out-Sourcing Inc Royal Charity Polo Cup 2022 at Guards Polo Club. He played as a part of the US Polo Assn team, taking on BP Polo and Monterosso Viking.
William was cheered on by wife Kate who wowed in a dreamy white dress with black detailing by Emilia Wickstead. She combined it with beige-and-black slingback flats and brown tortoiseshell sunglasses from Finlay.
Kensington Palace previously announced: “The match will be played to raise funds and awareness for ten charities supported by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge: SHOUT, The Foundling Museum, The Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, London’s Air Ambulance, Mountain Rescue England and Wales, The Anna Freud Centre, Family Action, The Forward Trust, East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH) and The Passage.”
In the past, Prince William has often competed alongside his brother Prince Harry in charity polo matches. Both of them are skilled players who have been playing since childhood.
The brothers competed in the Jerudong Trophy charity polo match together at Cirencester Park Polo Club in 2017.
The last time they played together in public was in July 2019, when they led opposing teams while their wives and children looked on from the sidelines.
