Princess Charlotte Turns 8 With A New Birthday Photo

Prince William and Kate just gave royal fans the nicest Monday evening gift: a new photo of Princess Charlotte to mark Charlotte’s eighth birthday tomorrow.

In the candid snap, Charlotte flashes the camera a smile while wearing a white, floral dress. As with many of the photos of the Wales children that are released to the media, this one was also captured by Kate herself in Windsor this weekend.

Prince William and Kate have released photos of Charlotte every year on her birthday, a tradition they started for Prince George and continued with Prince Louis.

The latest were images of Prince Louis for his fifth: He was photographed by Millie Pilkington smiling at the camera while is mother was pushing him in a wheelbarrow. On his eighth birthday, Prince George was photographed sitting on the hood of a Land Rover, as a tribute to his grandfather, the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who had a strong attachment to the vehicle.

On Saturday evening, Kate treated her daughter to an early birthday celebration by taking her to watch a performance of Cinderella by The Royal Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada.

The video of their outing shows the fortunate birthday girl being brought onstage with the performers, as she shyly smiles while her proud mother Kate fusses over her.

Being third in line to the throne, Princess Charlotte is the sole daughter of Catherine and William, who are also parents to Prince George and Prince Louis. The princess was born on May 2, 2015, at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, central London, weighing 8lb 3oz.
