Princess Kate Makes Her Debut Appearance With Her New Military Title Bestowed By King Charles

On Monday, Princess Kate paid a visit to the Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Yeovilton in Somerset, marking her inaugural public appearance in her freshly assigned royal title. During the summer, King Charles officially designated his daughter-in-law as the Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm (FAA), succeeding Prince Andrew, who had held the role until 2022.

She is known for her perfected style, so it is no surprise that theĀ Princess of WalesĀ got into character for a visit to a Royal Navy Base in Somerset this afternoon.

The elegant Princess of Wales, 41, sported a maritime black blazer with gold buttons from Holland Cooper which she has worn before, pairing it with dark trousers and Gianvito Rossi thick heels. The finishing touch was her new, 70s-inspired fringe and signature soft dark waves.

The neat ensemble proved the ideal choice for an overcast early afternoon trip that involved talking to crew members who were onboard an airborne Wildcat flight, visiting the cockpit of an aircraft, and a tour of the hangar where she met some of the crew to discuss the various operations that take place within the Fleet Air Arm.

Later, she sat inside a Merlin Mk4 helicopter, deployed by the Royal Marines worldwide to provide disaster relief, as well as a Merlin MK2, which is used to look for submarines.

The Princess – who last month was appointed the Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm (FAA) which was a position previously held by Prince Andrew, beamed and giggled as she tried on a camouflage life jacket and inflated it. During her visit, she also chatted to some of the 4,000 personnel employed to work on the site in Somerset.

Her visit comes as her husband, the Prince of Wales prepares to fly across to New York later this afternoon and embark on a tight schedule of engagements for the New York Climate Week. Heā€™ll be expected to attend the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit and address delegates alongside other speakers including business news mogul Mike Bloomberg and the co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates.

The Prince is also due to attend the third Earthshot Awards Ceremony in Singapore later this year. However,Ā The TelegraphĀ has reported that Kate Middleton is not due to join her husband on the trip.
