However, Prince William and Kate Middleton will then, unfortunately, have to miss their niece Lilibet’s first birthday, though that doesn’t mean the Sussex’s daughter will have a sidelined birthday.

It is expected that the young royal will get to spend her birthday, and the entirety of Jubilee weekend, meeting her namesake and great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

Royal sources tell us that Her Majesty will not be attending the Epsom Derby this Saturday due to mobility issues, her place will be taken by Princess Royal.

As for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a spokesperson confirmed that Harry and Meghan will be in the UK for the first time since they left for the US in 2020.

“Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honoured to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children,” said the spokesperson.

While it isn’t known which Jubilee events the Sussexes will take part in, they will most likely attend the Trooping the Colour, the Queen’s main birthday parade, on 2 June.

It is unlikely that they will appear on the balcony, but they may take part in the carriage procession while Archie and Lili watch from Buckingham Palace windows like other little royals have done in the past.
