Prince Charles Revealed Harry And Meghan’s Baby Name Suggestions

Grandpa Charles joked about the unexpected baby names Harry and Meghan could choose for their first baby.

The Prince of Wales opened up about potential names for his fourth grandchild during at a reception celebrating the centenary of Australia House on Thursday. He revealed that the parents-to-be had been given plenty of suggestions during their Royal tour in October.

Prince Charles revealed: “Incidentally ladies and gentlemen my son Harry tells me that during their recent tour of Australia, he and his wife were offered countless thoughtful suggestions for the naming of their forthcoming baby. Just between us, I suspect that Kylie and Shane may possibly make the shortlist.”

It’s presumed that he was referencing popstar Kylie Minogue and cricketer Shane Warne.

“But ladies and gentlemen I would not hold your breath for Edna or Les,” he added referring to comedian Barry Humphries, who was among the guests. Barry is known for his stage and television alter egos of Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson.

Harry and Meghan, who married on May 19, are are expecting their first child in the spring. The exact due date of the baby is not yet known. Nor the sex of the baby.

But, it doesn’t matter a boy or a girl, the couple are expected to choose a strong royal name, just like other family members have before them. William and Catherine named their kids: George, Charlotte and Louis.

Traditional names remain the most likely possibilities with Charles, Edward or James for a boy. Alice, Elizabeth or Victoria are for a girl.

When Meghan Markle ran her lifestyle blog The Tig, she revealed that Grey is her favorite baby name, which could work for both a boy or a girl.
