While on a trip to South Africa, the family met with lots of important figures, one of which was Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a famous anti-apartheid and human rights activist, as well as his daughter Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe, who has followed in his footsteps and continued his humanitarian work.

“It’s not lost on us what a huge and significant moment that is,” Meghan Markle, 38, said in the documentary.

“I think Archie will look back at that in so many years and understand that right at the beginning of his life, he was fortunate enough to have this moment with one of the best and most impactful leaders of our time. So, it was really special,” she said.

Harry Talked About His Late Mother And All The Things That Remind Him Of Her

Prince Harry and Dianna flew to Italy

Prince William and Prince Harry both lost their mother, Princess Diana of Wales, in a fateful car crash in 1997, something that will go on to define their upbringing and their adult life as royals. After the accident, both brothers were even more under the public eye, much to their dismay. Harry was only 12 when all this happened, and it is a tragedy that he has to live with ever since.

ā€œI think being part of this family —  in this role, in this job — every single time I see a camera, every single time I hear a click, every single time I see a flash, it takes me straight back,ā€ Harry said.

ā€œIn that respect, itā€™s the worst reminder of her life as opposed to the best. Being here now 22 years later trying to finish what she started will be incredibly emotional. But everything that I do reminds me of her,” he said.

Harry Finally Talks About The Rumored Rift Between Him And His Brother Prince William

Harry Addressed Criticism Over Use Of Private Jet At Event In Amsterdam

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle parted ways with the Royal Foundation, leaving it to be run by Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, there have been rumours of a supposed rift between the two brothers. Tom Bradby, the host of the documentary, and one not to shy away from sensitive topics questioned the young Prince about the matter.

ā€œInevitably, stuff happens. But weā€™re brothers, weā€™ll always be brothers” Harry replied.

“Weā€™re certainly on different paths at the moment,” Harry said. “Iā€™ll always be there for him and as I know, heā€™ll always be there for me. We donā€™t see each other as much as we used to because weā€™re so busy, but I love him dearly. As brothers, we have good days and we have bad days.ā€

Meghan Talks About Her Race

Meghan Markle Speech

Meghan Markle, who is black on her mother Doria Ragland’s side, is the only person of colour in the immediate lineage of the royal family. In South Africa, during one of her speeches, Meghan said: “I am here as a mother, as a wife, as a woman, as a woman of colour, and as your sister.”

In the documentary, she elaborates on this, talking about her heritage and how supportive Prince Harry has been.

“When I made the choice to add those words into the speech, it was really at the last minute, and I said to Harry, ā€˜What do you think if I add this in?’ I donā€™t know. It just felt right,” she said. “And he very kindly and supportively said, ā€˜If thatā€™s what feels right, then thatā€™s what you should say.ā€™ Because itā€™s true.”

ā€œBefore I was part of this family, thatā€™s how I identified, with people and connection, as a mother now, as a wife now, but just as a woman of colour, which has been brought to the forefront in a more prominent way,” Markle said.

Prince Harry Talked About His Fears

In the last couple of weeks, Harry and Meghan have been pretty vocal about how poorly they have been treated by the British tabloids. The abuse from the media has gotten to the points that, at the moment, the couple are involved in two lawsuits with two tabloids after the ‘news’ sites published a private letter of Meghan’s and the alleged hacking of Harry’s phone, respectively.

Harry used this moment to look back on how bad his mother was treated in the tabloids and his fears for his own family.

“Everything that she went through and what happened to her is incredibly raw, every single day, and that’s not me being paranoid, that’s just me not wanting a repeat of the past,” Harry said.

“And if anybody else knew what I knew, being it a father, be it a husband, be it, anyone, you would be doing exactly what I’m doing, as well,” he said.
