Kate Revealed How George, Charlotte And Louis Surprised Her At Chelsea Flower Show
The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out for a visit to her garden at the Chelsea Flower Show this morning.
Kate joined a group of schoolchildren for a fireside chat and outdoor activities in the Back To Nature Garden.
During her visit, she revealed how George, Charlotte and Louis surprised her during their visit to her garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Kate shared: “The children played last night in a way I hadn’t imagined. They were throwing stones. I hadn’t actually thought that that was what they would be doing.
“They kicked their shoes off, and wanted to paddle in the stream… using it in a way that I hadn’t anticipated,” she added.
For her visit, Duchess Kate opted for a white blouse by trendy label M.i.h Jeans, Massimo Dutti culottes and pair of white Superga trainers.
Kate seemed to be in great spirits as she helped children make little boats from reeds and launch them into the stream. “Now we need sticks to get these ones going,” she told them.
Later she helped them thread marshmallows on to sticks to toast over the fire. “I love the smell of the smoke,” she said. “It’s great, isn’t it?”
One girl, Maya Bell-Springer, talked about today’s experience with the Duchess: “It is lovely and relaxing.” She said afterwards: “She helped me cook my marshmallows. It was awesome.”
One photo shows hands-on Kate climbing a ladder up into a treehouse. “Oh my goodness, there are so many people up there!” she said.
Speaking to a group of parents back on the ground, she said: “It is really engaging kids to understand nature and care for it so they can go on to protect it.”
Kate’s garden aims to highlight the benefits the natural world brings to mental and physical well-being.

The space, which she hopes will inspire families “to get outside” and “enjoy nature”, features a tree house, swing seat, waterfall, rustic den and a campfire as well as tree stumps, stepping stones and a hollow log for children to play on.
