The Earthshot Prize is one of Prince William’s most ambitious projects to date, launching in October last year. The initiative will pay out a total of 50 million pounds to winners over the next ten years, as they present solutions to some of the world’s biggest environmental challenges.

Starting with 2021 and going until the end of the decade, winners of the five Earthshots will each receive 1 million pounds after being chosen by a judging panel that includes Prince William and other leading figures.

One person who is on the Earthshot Prize Council is Sir David Attenborough, a supporter of the projects since its very start, and he will be the one choosing the winners, alongside fellow judges such as actress Cate Blanchett, singer Shakira and Queen Rania of Jordan.

In their most recent engagement, Prince William and Kate Middleton went on a video call with the staff of Homerton University Hospital in East London, talking about the crisis and thanking all the frontline workers. The couple also revealed that they talk to their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, every day about the effort that the NHS workers are putting in battling the health crisis.

Prince William said he and his wife Kate are “making sure the children understand all the sacrifices” frontline workers are making as they care for growing numbers of patients affected by the virus.

At the moment all of the primary schools in the UK are closed. So, Prince George and Princess Charlotte are back to homeschooling, a fact that both children and parents cant be fans of.
