Revealed: Who Will Be Prince Louis’ Godparents?

Kensington Palace has announced the names of the royal baby’s godparents, In advance of Prince Louis’s christening later today.

Here’s the full list:

– Mr. Nicholas van Cutsem

– Mr. Guy Pelly

– Mr. Harry Aubrey-Fletcher

– The Lady Laura Meade

– Mrs. Robert Carter

– Miss Lucy Middleton

William and Kate have asked again close friends and family members to do the honour.

In comparison, Princess Charlotte has five godparents: Princess Diana’s niece, the Honourable Laura Fellowes; the Duchess of Cambridge’s cousin Adam Middleton; Prince William’s childhood Thomas van Straubenzee; James Meade, another close friend of Williams; and Duchess Kate’s good friend Sophie Carter.

When it comes to Prince George, he has has seven: Oliver Baker, a friend of Will and Kate’s from college; Kate’s friend Emilia Jardine-Paterson; Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster; Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Prince William’s former Will and Kate’s former private secretary; Princess Diana’s close friend Julia Samuel; Prince William’s cousin, Zara Tindall; and Prince William’s longtime friend William van Cutsem.

We are not surprised that the couple decided for Guy Pelly. The British nightclub owner is one of Prince William and Prince Harry’s closest friends.  His mother is Lady Carolyn Herbert and she was close friends with the late Princess Diana. Lady Carolyn has always remained loyal to the Princes. She doesn’t often talk about them in public.

Nicholas van Cutsem is a life-long family friend of the royal family. His daughter, Florence, was a bridesmaid at Harry and Meghan’s wedding. Whereas, his niece, Grace, was a bridesmaid at William and Kate’s wedding in 2011. Prince Harry is godfather to Florence, and William is Grace’s godfather. Nicholas and William have known each other since childhood.

Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, like Wlliam, went on to Eton College. There, they were members of the Eton Society, which was founded in 1811 as a debating group. William was an usher when Harry married Louise Stourton. And it was the first wedding that William and Kateattended after they announced their engagement in 2010.

Laura Meade is the wife of William’s close friend James Meade. James delivered the “joint best man’s speech” with Thomas van Straubenzee at William and Kate’s wedding reception.

Mrs Roberts Carter, nee Hannah Gillingham, is a close friend to Kate. Mrs Hannah is married to Robert Carter. She is also Kate’s cousin on her father’s side and works as a solicitor.

Miss Lucy Middleton, meanwhile, is Kate’s cousin on her father’s side and works as a solicitor. Lucy, is close to the Duchess, and the pair spent their gap year together in Florence.

 

Prince Louis will be christened on Monday at 4 pm. The little boy, will be baptised at St James’s Palace in London. It is the same venue as Prince George.
