On Tuesday, Prince Harry and Meghan posted an end-of-year video on their Sussex Royal Instagram account that highlighted some of the couple’s best moments from 2019.
Among the highlights from the video was a new unseen photo of their son Archie cradled in dad Harry’s arms.
In the photo, Archie is wrapped up in a brown coat and boots with a grey bobble hat. And according to BAZAAR.com, the boots were a special gift to the couple when they first announced Meghan’s pregnancy. Harry and Meghan received the tiny UGG boots from Australia’s Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife, during their royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.
There is also a special backstory about Archie’s cosy knit cap; it’s from Make Give Live, a social enterprise that runs community-based knitting groups in New Zealand. For each item purchased, one is donated to a Kiwi in need. During the same tour, Duchess Meghan also received one of the hats.
“Being part of a Make Give Live group is like having a second family, we knit but we also nurture our own mental health and wellbeing,” the group says on its web site. “Looking after yourself is essential and it is a proven fact that knitting has a multitude of therapeutic benefits, including reducing stress, improving self-confidence and helping provide meaningful connections and purpose, especially when you are part of a community.”
The fact that Archie is now wearing those boots and cap is beyond adorable. Its is so lovely to know that Harry and Meghan are saving all of the gifts that they’ve been given for him.
