What About Meghan’s Wedding Gown Really Shocked The Queen?
Royal fans have speculated about who Meghan would choose to design her gown nearly since the moment her engagement to Harry was announced last November.
On May 19, 2018, Harry and Meghan tied the knot. As Meghan was walking down the aisle to wed Prince Harry, all eyes were on her wedding gown.
She wore a white wedding dress with an open bateau neckline and three-quarter length sleeves by Givenchy.
It was definitely the fashion moment of 2018! While someone loved her choice, others had questioned it. And so was the Queen!
According to Daily Mail, “the Queen is said to have expressed surprise that Meghan, a divorcee, wore quite such a white dress for her wedding.”
A white wedding dress symbolises purity and innocence. Once a couple got married and consummated the relationship, women can no longer wear white because they had lost their virginity.
The times flies by so fast. Just yesterday Harry and Meghan celebrated their six month anniversary. To “mark” the occasion the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out for the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium.
Duchess Meghan showed her pregnancy glow and cradled her baby bump during the event. She looked beautiful in a sparkling top and black maxi skirt by London-based designer Safiyaa that skimmed over her bump.
He hair was pulled into an elegant updo that highlighted her dazzling Birks Snowstorm Earrings.
The Royal Variety Show is an annual event which raises money for the Royal Variety Charity. And each year a senior member of the royal family is invited to attend. Harry’s debut was in 2015, and Meghan is showing up for the first time this year.
Last year, Kate and William attended the event when Kate was at the early stages of pregnancy with Prince Louis. And now the same goes for Meghan! Such a sweet coincidence!
