Why April Is Special Month For William, Kate And The Queen

This year’s April will be wonderful for the royal family. Almost all of the senior royals have a reason to celebrate, whether it’s a birthday or an anniversary.

The Queen turns 94 on 21 April and is likely to be at Windsor Castle on the day, where she has been isolating since 19 March. 

Her second birthday party is a more public affair when royals gather for Trooping the Color in June. However, this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Buckingham Palace announced that they cancelled the event.

Two days after her official birthday, Louis will celebrate his second birthday. Last year, for his 1st birthday, mom Kate got behind the camera and took some adorable snapshots of a baby Prince Louis.

Several days later, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary on the 29th.

Prince William and Kate started dating while they were studying at the University of St Andrews. They announced their engagement in November 2010. The pair tied the knot at Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011 in a televised ceremony watched by millions.

Prince Charles and Camilla will also celebrate their anniversary this month. They married in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall on 9 April 2005. It was followed by a religious blessing at St George’s Chapel with the Queen and Prince Philip attending. The bride looked stunning in a cream dress by Robinson Valentine and a feathered hat by Philip Treacy.

Last year, the couple celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary on a previously unannounced visit to Belfast where Charles had the honour of re-opening Hillsborough Castle.
