Why George Was Positioned Next To The Queen During Jubilee Balcony Appearance

Rounding off the Platinum Jubilee celebrations was the final treat for royal fans, Her Majesty appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony on Sunday evening.

For the last balcony appearance of the four-day celebrations the Queen took centre-stage, she was joined by her heirs Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.

The heirs were also joined by the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, a historic moment with core members of the royal family representing the present and future of the monarchy.

No doubt a special moment for Queen Elizabeth as she was positioned in between Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George, who are first, second and third-in-line for the throne respectively, the immediate line of succession, joined by their wives as future consorts.

The group which appeared for the grand finale was much smaller relative to the group which joined Queen Elizabeth on the balcony for the Trooping the Colour on Thursday.

There followed an amazing Pageant that proceeded from Horse Guards, along Whitehall to Admiralty Arch and down The Mall to Buckingham Palace the Queen delighted royal fans with her arrival and was met with cheers from the crowd and a rendition of the national anthem.

The event featured giant puppets, the Gold State Coach and the highest of music, theatre and street arts joining together to paint us a picture and tell the story of Her Majesty’s now 70-year reign.

Appreciating her subject’s love and support, Her Majesty later stated: “When it comes to how to mark seventy years as your Queen, there is no guidebook to follow. It really is a first. But I have been humbled and deeply touched that so many people have taken to the streets to celebrate my Platinum Jubilee.

Why Prince George was positioned next to the Queen

“While I may not have attended every event in person, my heart has been with you all; and I remain committed to serving you to the best of my ability, supported by my family.

“I have been inspired by the kindness, joy and kinship that has been so evident in recent days, and I hope this renewed sense of togetherness will be felt for many years to come.

“I thank you most sincerely for your good wishes and for the part you have all played in these happy celebrations.”
