Will Prince Louis Participate In Royal Christmas Tradition For The First Time
Four-year-old Prince Louis garnered the nation’s attention with his hilarious antics during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June – now the young royal has gotten another chance to delight the public, on Christmas!
Prince Louis will likely join his older siblings, nine-year-old Prince George and seven-year-old Princess Charlotte, along with their parents, Prince William and Princess Catherine, on the traditional Christmas Day walk to church in Sandringham.
The family walks from Sandringham House to St Mary Magdalene Church, where they attend the morning service. The royals meet and greet crowds of people who line the route to the church during the 300-metre public stroll.
Traditionally, royals only attend service when they’re a little older, Prince William was five, while Prince Harry was seven, William and Kate did, however, bring along Charlotte when she was a toddler.
Back in June, while George and Charlotte demonstrated elegance at a young age, the event proved to be all too exciting for Louis, who attracted a lot of attention with his dancing and series of cheeky faces – even sticking his tongue out at mum Kate, pretending to be a lion!
His antics gathered enough eyes that even his devoted parents had to reference them in their social media post after the event, saying: “We all had an incredible time, especially Louis… [eyes emoji]. W & C.”
Cheeky Louis even played up as he stood next to the late Queen during a flyover at Buckingham Palace.
Buckingham Palace did also confirm that King Charles will continue to spend the festive season at Sandringham and host the royal family there, a tradition which began in 1988 when Windsor Castle was being rewired – this will be the royal family’s first Christmas after Queen Elizabeth’s passing on 8 September.
