The Duke of Cambridge was reminded of his mother on a visit to Blackpool with The Duchess of Cambridge. The couple is at the resort for a busy day full of royal engagements.
When they arrived in the iconic Blackpool Tower, the couple paused to look at a large mirror that was unveiled by Princess Diana in 1992 which marked the opening of Tower World. The Duke smiled, saying ‘fantastic’ and ‘amazing’ when they stopped to observe the mirror.
The manager of Merlin Entertainment, Kate Shane, gave the couple some history about the tower.
Despite the grey skies, many people gathered outside to see the royal couple.
Kate looked amazing in a green Michael Corrs dress, Sports Max coat and hair pulled in a topknot as she waved at the crowds.
The Duke and Duchess were received by Lord Shuttleworth, the Queen’s Lord Lieutenant to Lancashire.
They were introduced to Antony Attard, High Sheriff of Lancashire, and his wife Patricia.
They also met Gary and Debbie Coleman, the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackpool, Simon Blackburn, Leader of Blackpool Council, and Mr Gordon Marsden, Member of Parliament for Blackpool South.
