The Unknown Story Behind Kate Middleton’s Scar
Kate Middleton might be seen as close to perfect, however not even the Duchess of Cambridge is without “flaws”.
She is married to a prince, has a wardrobe full of designer clothes, a loving family, and hair that makes even young women jealous. But, as it turns out the 36-year-old has got something to hide.
If you can say it that, even though she has done a marvelous job of keeping it out of the public eye for so long. It’s just a minor detail that eagle-eyed royals fans have noticed.
So don’t get your hopes up for any juicy stories, such as a bizarre addiction or a secret second life. Kate’s big secret is (drum roll please) that she has a three-inch scar on the left side of her head.
But you might ask, how did she get it?
The first time eagle-eyed fans spotted the scar was back in 2011. But, at the time most people thought it was just a piece of her hair extension.
The photo was so talked about and so many people tried to figure out from where she got it, that in the end, Kensington Palace had to release a short statement about it.
In it, they put it quite simply that it was the result of a “childhood operation”.
It was unclear as to what kind of operation the Duchess of Cambridge has undergone in her childhood. And the palace refused to release further information, saying that it was “private”.
Some sources, such as the Daily Mail, said that senior royal sources said that the operation was of a “serious” nature.
Since then that statement has been debunked by professionals.
John Scurr, a consultant surgeon at the Lister Hospital in London, told The Sun that it was very unlikely that it was anything to be worried about.
He said: “I really doubt it was any serious medical condition and I would say it is as a result of an arteriovenous malformation – a birthmark – being removed.
“It is remarkable, given the measurement, that no-one has noticed before.”
Her husband, Prince William, also has a scar on his head, which he got when he was a child.
In the past, people would jokingly call it the “Harry Potter scar” due to its location on his forehead.
It is believed that the prince got the scar from a golf club when he was only 13.
