Meghan Markle Has Dropped Hints About Her Dream Wedding Dress

The great news about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding was announced yesterday. And the fans already have started wondering and speculating what and who Meghan will wear down the aisle.

While we’ll have to wait until next spring for the royal wedding, she has hinted before at what she would want her wedding gown to look like.

First she wore a wedding dress for her first marriage with Trevor Engelson. But we could see Meghan wearing a wedding dress also while playing Rachel Zane in the finale of season 5. Rachel wore an embroidered, plunging v-necked A-line gown by Anne Barge.

After that episode, many interviews sparked with the actress about what is her dream wedding gown.  And one thing is clear here: Meghan Markle knows a thing or two about wedding dresses.

While having a press for Suits, she told that Zane’s wedding dress isn’t far from what she’d want for herself. She explained that look as “classic and fairytale.”

“Classic and simple is the name of the game, perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic,” Markle added according to People.

Meghan Markle also revealed that her favorite wedding dress was the simple slip gown that late Carolyn Bessette wore when she married John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1996.  “Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. Everything goals.” Carolyn wore a bias cut slip gown by Narciso Rodriguez. It has been breaking ground for minimalist brides in the fashion industry.

The editor-in-chief of The Knot, Kristen Maxwell Cooper, talked about this theme. “Meghan’s dress will probably not be as traditional as the Duchess of Cambridge’s dress from 2011. She is going to stick to her style, which is simplistic and modern and it seems fresh,” she explained to Inside Edition.

Considering the fact that Meghan Markle isn’t British, it will be interesting to see who will she choose to work with. Will it be a British label? Or she will decide to head back to Canada or the U.S?

For now, we know for sure that Prince Harry won’t see her gown beforehand. About the groom previewing the bride’s dress, Meghan revealed “I prefer sticking with traditions.”
