Outlander: Live The Tale With This Deleted Scene

If you ever dreamed of being on the set of Outlander, here is your chance, Starz and Mashable can do just that. An exclusive deleted scene from season 3, episode 11, filmed with a 360-degree camera to get the real immersive experience of the inside of the Artemis- the gorgeous full-scale ship that’s currently carrying Claire and Jamie Fraser to Jamaica.

And it gets even better, you get a guided tour, by none but Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, who are more than happy to channel their inner pirates while giving us a glimpse of the sprawling South Africa studio that is a stand-in for the Caribbean in the second half of Season 3.

If you take full advantage of the 360 scope of the video, you can even spot of the other vessel featured on the show, the Porpoise, along with all the wind machines and green screens needed to give the show the look of a ship out in the open sea.

And, just in case you felt like you weren’t interacting enough with the environment, Balfe and Heughan also demonstrate the old Star Trek trick of moving around the deck while the camera follows in order to simulate movement (aka “gimbaling”), just to give you a better feel of the entire experience.

And if you wanted to see part of the joy when Claire and Jamie reunited and enjoyed some PDA after Claire was kidnapped and left stranded on a remote island, you might enjoy the deleted final scene of episode 311, in which our heroes see land for the first time, it being Jamaica, and bringing them one step closer to finding Young Ian

But will they be successful in their quest? We will have to wait and see in the next episode on Sunday at 8 p.m.
