Prince William Reveals How Charlotte Is Following In George’s Footsteps

During his latest engagement, Prince William shared some interesting new details about his daughter Princess Charlotte, revealing that the seven-year-old is a “budding” future football player.

The Duke of Cambridge visited St George’s Park where he met with England Women’s team, who gave the royal three football shirts that had his children’s names on the back. When he saw the jersey with Charlotte’s name he laughed and passed on a message from the young girl.

“Charlotte wanted me to tell you that she is really good at goals. She said ‘Please tell them that.’ She’s a budding star for the future,” he shared.

William watched the training session in Burton upon Trent and then spoke with several of the players and the coaches as they prepare for the start of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, which will start on July 6th and is hosted by England.

Prince William is president of the Football Association, as well as a supporter of Aston Villa football club, and it seems he has passed down the love for the sport to his children as well.

Prince George is already known for his love of the sport, with him and his sister Charlotte attending their first football match back in October of 2019, as they attended a Norwich City vs Aston Villa match at Carrow Road Stadium. The little royal even posed in an England football shirt for his sixth birthday in 2019.

Then in 2021, he attended multiple England games during the rescheduled 2020 Euros, joining his father and mother, Kate Middleton, as they cheered on the England team as Gareth Southgate took their squad all through to the finals.

Unfortunately, Prince George will have to wait some time before he sees the England team lift a trophy, as they lost in the final game against Italy. George, who was seated between his parents William and Kate, looked understandably disappointed when England’s fate was sealed and his father lovingly stroked his shoulders as he consoled him.

Earlier in 2022, the Duke of Cambridge was seen cheering on his son George as the royal played for his school football team. In a photograph shared on social media, the future king could be seen standing smiling with the opposing team, while another photo showed the future-future king in a blue-and-white striped kit and yellow football boots concentrating hard on the game.
