Same Old Meghan: Her Friends Say That Her New Royal Status Has Not Changed Her
Meghan Markle has been the Duchess of Sussex for four months, and it wasn’t hard for her to adapt to this new life, however, close friends say that this new position has not changed her.
Yesterday, the Duchess of Sussex, 37, officially launched a recipe book to support a community that was heavily affected by the Grenfell fire. This is her first solo project. She is also getting ready for her first ever royal tour, in which she and Prince Harry will visit nine cities in just 15 days.
Every time we see the Duchess, she always looks relaxed and confident in her royal outings, no matter if she is alongside her husband, Prince Harry or her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
She even had the chance to go on a solo trip with the Queen in June, when the two of them spent a night together on the royal train in Chester.
Even though Meghan joined the most famous Royal family in the world, Meghan’s wedding makeup artist revealed that the former Suits star is still the “same person”.
Daniel Martin, who is a longtime friend of the Duchess, said: “There’s a small group of us that check in with her and see how she’s doing, but she’s still the same person.
“That’s why it’s so bizarre for me sometimes to even think about her in that way because that’s not who I know.”
Mr. Martin, of New York, has worked with leading publications like Vogue and with A-list clients including the likes of Jessica Alba, Elettra Wiedemann, and Chrissy Teigen.
He has been working with Meghan on her look for many years, and according to him, Meghan is easy to spend time with-even on her own wedding day.
Speaking to Vogue, Mr. Martin said that prepping Meghan for her wedding in May: “Was just like hanging out with old friends.
“The whole day was just very easy.
“We didn’t have our phones so we didn’t know what everyone was saying outside. We were in our own little bubble. It went by so fast.”
Mr. Martin has also revealed that he and Meghan agreed to go for more of a ‘natural’ look on the day of her wedding to the now Duke of Sussex.
