William And Kate Mark Archie Third Birthday With Heartwarming Photo

On Friday Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first child turns three. For this big day, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a photograph of their nephew, wishing him a happy birthday. The sweet photo, which features members of the royal family at Archie’s christening in 2019, was shared on Prince William and Kate’s official Instagram and Twitter accounts.

The caption with the photo read: “Wishing Archie a very happy 3rd Birthday today.”

In the photograph, Prince Harry and Meghan are front and centre with the proud mom holding the then-two-month-old on her lap. By their sides are William and Kate, Prince Charles and Camilla, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, and Princess Diana’s sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes.

The official portrait is the work of Chris Allerton, taken in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle right after the initial ceremony, which was held in the Private Chapel, also in Windsor, and saw fewer than 25 guests attend.

The post from the Cambridge couple amassed a huge number of likes and comments, with tons of fans wishing Archie a happy birthday.

The Queen also celebrated her great-grandson’s third birthday with a social media post, sharing a sweet throwback photo of her first meeting with him. The photo, shared on the royal family’s Twitter account, showed the monarch cooing over Archie.

The caption alongside the photo went: “Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 3rd Birthday!” Prince Charles and Camilla also reposted the personal snap on their Twitter accounts.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child back on May 6th 2019 at The Portland Hospital in London. The young royal, who since then has become a big brother to his sister Lilibet, is the eighth great-grandchildren of the Queen and is seventh in line to the British throne.

Last month during the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, Meghan revealed how she and Harry were torn over what to call their firstborn-whether to go with Archie or Harrison. Well in the end, as we know, they couldn’t decide so they went with both-with his full name being Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
