Meghan Received Unique Gift For Son Archie During Surprise Outing

On Monday, the Duchess of Sussex made yet another unannounced appearance during her royal tour of Africa. She visited Johannesburg’s Victoria Yards, a place for artisans and craftspeople to work and share their creations. While there she viewed the work of contemporary artist James Delaney.

Duchess Meghan also visited Tshepo Jeanmaker, which makes custom jeans and was started by a local designer from Soweto. Soweto and Meghan talked about his business, which now employs 10 people, and gave her with a tiny pair of overalls for her son Archie. But not only Archie, Meghan also received a pair of jeans.

Lesedi Masemola, the brand’s manager, said: “From what we’ve seen on the internet she’s the type of person who loves skinny fit so that’s what we made.

“When she saw the jeans the words she said were ‘oh my, oh my’ she was very impressed she loved the jeans she said she couldn’t wait to try them on and said ‘wow’. And when she saw the dungarees she said ‘very cute”, I think they are very, very lovely.”

Soweto also revealed that Meghan placed an order for a pair of jeans four weeks ago, which she personally picked up!

Lesedi revealed that her jeans cost 2,100 South African Rand (ÂŁ113). However, Archie’s dungarees were a special order. He said: “that was a special order we’ve never done before so I couldn’t give you a price.”

Meghan’s engagement comes just a day after  she Skyped into a meeting Prince Harry was having at the Nalikule College of Education in Malawi.

Harry introduced his wife, saying: “I know there’s somebody else you’d far rather hear from than me, hopefully if technology doesn’t fail us you may see somebody on the screen.” Meghan’s beaming face then appeared and she said: “I’m so happy to be with you, is there a delay?” to which Harry responded, “No, it’s great, keep going.”

The Duchess also gave a sweet update on baby Archie’s wellbeing, saying: “Archie’s taking a nap.”

Students and staff at the College broke into song as she dialed into a meeting during the Prince’s visit. The women are singing “Duchess Wathu, Duchess Wamayankho” which means “Our Duchess, Duchess with the solutions.”
