The Royal Family

The Big Detail You Missed In Harry And Meghan’s Last Instagram Post

On Monday, the couple shared one last Instagram post on their @sussexroyal account before signing off, which will remain “for the foreseeable future”, but the profile will not be active as it was. And for their last ever post on there, the two made a ‘meaningful’ change. Usually, they sign their posts with “Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex”, as was the case for their post on Christmas, but now they left the formalities and simply signed it off with “Harry and Meghan”.

The long-anticipated day finally came. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially stepped down from royal life, with March 31 being the last day they spend as senior working members of the royal family.

We know that the agreement they have will allow them to keep their HRH style titles, but will not be actively using them, so this might be how they will be signing off in the future on whatever account they start.

Part of the message read: “While you may not see us here, the work continues. Thank you to this community – for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great! Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another. Harry and Meghan.”

In a last-minute change, the couple will be setting up a more permanent base in Meghan’s home city of Los Angeles after staying in Canada for six months, where everyone thought they would be. After the initial shock of the announcement passed, the two of them sat down with the Queen, the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge and arranged a deal that includes an initial 12-month review to ensure that the arrangements of the next year work for all parties.

Another thing that they finalized was that the couple will no longer be undertaking official engagements in support of Her Majesty, so there will be no office of theirs based in Buckingham Palace.

During March, their last month as royals, Harry and Meghan cleared any unfinished business they had and attended their last royal engagements. Both of them attended the Endeavour Fund Awards and the Mountbatten Festival of Music. Meghan also visited a secondary school in East London to mark International Women’s Day and met with young leaders from the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
